LTC # 082-2021 LETTER TO COMMISSION TO: Mayor Dan Gelber and Members of the City Commission FROM: Raul J. Aguila, Interim City Manager DATE: February 26, 2021 SUBJECT: Update from the Governor on Expanded Eligibility for COVID-19 Vaccine Florida Governor DeSantis announced this past Tuesday that teachers and law enforcement officers who are 50 years of age and older will soon be allowed to have access to the COVID-19 vaccine through federally run vaccination sites. Once the current restrictions are lifted in the Governor’s order, the Miami Beach Fire Department has a plan to assist with inoculating teachers and police officers if the vaccine becomes available for this purpose. In the interim, we continue our efforts in vaccinating those 65 and over with the limited amount of vaccine that we have received. Should you have any other questions, please feel free to contact Fire Chief Virgil Fernandez. RJA/VF
