A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A
RECOMMENDATION OF THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT TO
AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 1891, THE SAME BEING THE
COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE
SUBSTITUTION OF THE ENGINEER'S POSITION ON THE PLANNING
BOARD WITH AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS EDUCATION AND/OR
EXPERIENCE IN HISTORIC PRESERVATION ISSUES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT,
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Miami Beach held a public hearing
on September 23, 1986 and recommended that the Engineer's position be substituted with a
lay person with the same qualifications of other lay people on the Board;
WHEREAS, said action of the Planning Board has been duly transmitted to the
City Commission pursuant to Section 17. Changes and Amendments of Zoning Ordinance
No. 1891.
WHEREAS, on October 1, 1986 the Planning Department and the Administration
recommended that the City Commission substitute the Engineer's position with a person who
has education and/or experience in historic preservation issues.
WHEREAS, on October 1, 1986 the City Commission unanimously rejected the
Planning Board recommendation and approved the Planning Department's and
Administration's recommendation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
• OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a public hearing for consideration of the
aforementioned proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance is hereby called to be held
before the City Commission in its chambers on the Third Floor of City Hall, 1700
Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida, beginning at 3 pm on the 5th day of
November 1986, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish appropriate
Public Notice of said Public Hearing to be published in a newspaper of general circulation of
the City of Miami Beach, at which time and place all interested parties will be heard.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of October 1986
