A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING MR.
GERRY KAUPER AND THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO
NEGOTIATE WITH THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF
REALTORS FOR THEIR 1993 CONVENTION WITH A CITY
GUARANTEE THAT AN ADDITIONAL 110,000 SQUARE
FEET OF CONTIGUOUS SPACE TO THE EXISTING
BUILDING BE, AVAILABLE AT THE CONVENTION CENTER
IN 1993 AND THAT THE NEGOTIATED TERMS BE
BROUGHT TO THE CITY COMMISSION FOR ITS
APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, the National Association of Realtors would like
to hold their 1993 Convention in Miami Beach; and,
WHEREAS, there is some concern that a proper amount of
space be available in the expanded Convention Center at that time;
and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Gerry Kauper has volunteered to negotiate
with the Realtors; and,
WHEREAS, the the City Commission will approve a
reasonable negotiation when it is brought before them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Mr. Gerry
Kauper and the City Administration be authorized to negotiate with
the National Association of Realtors for their 1993 Convention
•
with a City guarantee that an additional 110 ,000 square feet of
contiguous space to the existing building be available at the
Convention Center in 1993 and that the negotiated terms be brought
to the City Commission for its approval.
This Resolution shall be effective as of October 1, 1986.
