RESOLUTION NO. 86-18643
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH
SOUTHERN _BELL ADVANCED SYSTEMS, INC., FOR
TELEPHONE SERVICES CITY-WIDE, WITH FUNDS TO BE
APPROPRIATED FROM BOND FUND NO. 359 INTO A WORK
ORDER
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach issued a request for proposals,
identified as RFP No. 106-85/90, dated March 26, 1986, for the purpose of
receiving bids on certain telecommunication goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission .authorized the City Manager on
September 3, 1986, pursuant to Commission Memos 593-86 and 594-86, to
negotiate an agreement with Southern Bell Advanced Systems, Inc. for telephone
service city-wide; and
WHEREAS, Southern Bell Advanced Systems, Inc. now desires to furnish to

the City of Miami Beach certain goods and services pursuant to the specific
description set out in RFP No. 106-85/90 and based upon its overall proposal; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the City Attorney, through their staffs,
have negotiated an agreement pursuant to Southern Bell Advanced Systems,
Inc.'s response to RFP No. 106-85/90; and
WHEREAS, the funding for this project is to be appropriated from Bond
Fund No. 359 in the amount of $300,000.00, to a Work Order to be established for
this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement with Southern Bell
Advanced Systems, Inc. for telephone services city-wide and $300,000.00 is
hereby appropriated from Bond Fund No. 359 to a Work Order to be established.
