RESOLUTION NO. 86-18646
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING IN
CONCEPT THE STATE PLAN THAT THE NORTH SHORE
OPEN SPACE PARK BE CONVEYED TO THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT TRUST
FUND OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA FOR INCORPORATION
INTO THE STATE OF FLORIDA PARK SYSTEM,
PROVIDING FOR LONG TERM LEASING OF CITY LOTS
ON THE WEST SIDE OF COLLINS AVENUE FOR PARKING
FOR THE PARK, AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN.._
HISTORIC DISTRICT AT THE SOUTHERN END OF THE
PARK SITE BETWEEN 77TH and 79TH STREETS,
EXCLUDING THE LOG CABIN FACILITIES ON THE WEST
SIDES OF COLLINS AVENUE BETWEEN 81ST STREET AND
82ND STREET, AND FURTHER EXCLUDING PROPERTIES
NORTH OF 86TH STREET TO BE LEASED FOR PARKING
FOR THE QUALITY INN HOTEL AT 87TH AND THE
OCEANFRONT.
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved in concept the
State Plan for the North Shore Open Space Park; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of cooperating
with the State for the long term leasing of City lots on Collins
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, portions of the area are being considered as a
Historic District;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it approves in concept the
State Plan that the North Shore Open Space Park be conveyed to the
Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund of the
State of Florida for incorporation into the State of Florida park
system, providing for long term leasing of City lots on the west
side of Collins Avenue for parking for the park, and the
establishment of , historic district at the southern end of the
park site between 77th and 79th streets, excluding the Log Cabin
facilities on the west side of Collins Avenue between 81st street
and 82nd street, and further excluding properties north of 86th
street to be leased for parking for the Quality Inn Hotel at 87th
and the oceanfront.
