RESOLUTION NO. 86-18665
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
PAYMENT OF THE ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION REQUEST
BY THE ARCHITECTS FOR THE 21ST STREET
RECREATION CENTER EXPANSION AND COLLINS CANAL
WALKWAY
WHEREAS, the Architects contract has been reviewed by
the Administration and the City Attorney; and,
WHEREAS, the request for additional compensation has
been found to be in accordance with the terms of the contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED THAT THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, authorizes the
payment of the additional compensation request by the architects
for the 21st Street Recreation, Center Expansion and Collins Canal
Walkway.
This Resolution shall be effective as of
November 5 1986 .

CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 .

FUND #4355 -INCOME EARNED FROM INTEREST •
The current Architectural Contract with Norman M. Giller and Associates, for the design,
and construction administration of 21st Street Community Center and Collins Canal
Walkway via 21st Street, is in the amount of $148,000. The original contract time limit for
these services was through July 31, 1986. The project completion time has been delayed by
the contractor, and the architects have requested compensation for the additional contract
administration time expended on the project through October 30, 1986. Also, additional
time was expended to redesign the walkway portion of the project along 21st Street due to
unknown conflicts with existing utilities that were uncovered during construction and
Change Order negotiations with the'contractor.
The City Administration and the City Attorney have reviewed the Architect's additional
compensation request, and are in agreement that 'it is in' accordance with the. Contract
Documents.
Funds .for this purpose are to be appropriated from the available Unappropriated Fund
Balance of Fund No. 4355, income earned from interest.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The City Administration' recommends that the Architectural Contract 'with
Norman M. Giller and Associates, for additional construction administration, design and
Change Order negotiations for the 21st Street Community Center and Collins Canal
Walkway. via 21st Street,. be increased in the amount of $15,835.12. Funds 'for this purpose
are tobe appropriated from the available Unappropriated Fund Balance of Fund No.. 4355,
income earned from interest.
