RESOLUTION NO. 86-18669
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH ORDERING A RECOUNT OF THE
VOTES CAST WITH RESPECT TO BALLOT QUESTION
NO. 3 ON THE NOVEMBER 4, 1986 SPECIAL. ELECTION
BALLOT OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH REGARDING
THE REPEAL OF SECTION 37 (h) OF THE MIAMI BEACH
CITY CHARTER AND AUTHORIZING METROPOLITAN DADE
COUNTY TO CONDUCT THE RECOUNT.
WHEREAS, on November 4, 1986, Metropolitan Dade County
conducted a general election, atwhich time the City of Miami
Beach authorized a concurrent special election; and
WHEREAS, in City of Miami Beach Resolution No. 86-18532,
a ballot question regarding repeal of Section 37 (h) of the Miami
Beach City Charter concerning issuance of municipal bonds was
placed on the aforementioned November 4, 1986 special election
ballot; and
WHEREAS, the certification of the results of this
question as submitted by David C. Leahy, Supervisor of Elections,
Metropolitan Dade County, Florida, reflected that the above
measure was approved by one half of a percent or less of the votes
cast on such measure; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statute Section 102.141 (4) ,
a recount of the votes cast with respect to this measure must be
ordered by the Miami Beach City Commission as the Board
responsible for certifying the results of the vote; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach City Commission hereby orders a
recount of the votes pertaining to City of Miami Beach ballot
question no. 3 regarding repeal of Section 37 (h) of the City
Charter , and hereby authorizes Metropolitan Dade County to so
conduct the recount.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby
orders a recount of the votes cast pertaining to ballot question
no. 3 on the City of Miami Beach November 4, 1986 special election
ballot concerning repeal of Section 37 (h) of the Miami Beach City
Charter , and further authorizes Metropolitan Dade County to so
conduct the recount.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of November , 1986.
