A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 86-18588
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY
OF AN APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT
COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ASSISTANCE FUNDS AND RESERVE
FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the State adopted the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and
Land Development Act in 1985; and,
WHEREAS, this Act will require the City of Miami Beach to substantially revise the
Comprehensive Plan by September 1, 1988; and,
WHEREAS, the State Department of Community Affairs has made additional funds
available to assist local governments over and above the amount originally applied for.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to make
appropriate application to the State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs for a
Local Government Comprehensive Planning Assistance Grant in the amount of seventy
thousand five hundred twenty-six dollars ($70,526) and a Local Government Comprehensive
Planning Reserve Fund Grant in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000), under the
provisions of the Florida Department of Community Affairs Rule 91-16, providing financial
assistance to the City of Miami Beach for comprehensive planning as therein delineated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute and deliver, for and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, any required
Agreement(s) with the said Department of Community Affairs, setting forth the City's
commitment to meet and comply with all the terms of the provisions of such grant(s), when
and if made, with a copy of said Agreement(s) to be made part of this resolution, and that
Resolution No. 86-18588 be amended accordingly.
