RESOLUTION NO. 86-18706
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A TRUST FUND ACCOUNT IN THE CITY'S
GENERAL TRUST FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF COLLECTING AND
ACCOUNTING FOR DONATIONS TO THE DR. LEO GROSSMAN MEMORIAL
PLAYGROUND IN ISLAND VIEW PARK
WHEREAS, Dr. Howard Engle, longtime friend and partner to Dr. Leo Grossman has
suggested that funds be donated to the City for a Dr. Leo Grossman Memorial Playground to
be located at Island View Park; and
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of assisting in the establishment of a Dr. Leo
Grossman Memorial Playground; and
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of establishing such a trust account and administering
the accounting for such an account.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a Dr. Leo Grossman Memorial Playground Trust Account
will be set up in the City of Miami Beach's General Trust fund for the purpose of accounting
the donations and expenditures for the Dr. Leo Grossman Memorial Playground. The purpose
of these funds are solely to fund playground equipment in Island View Park in an area to be
known as the Dr. Leo Grossman Memorial Playground and to provide maintenance and,
should sufficient funds be available, provide staffing for the specified area.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of December 1986.

SUBJECT: RESOLUTION ES ABLISHING THE DR. LEO GROSSMAN MEMORIAL
PLAYGROUND TRUST ACCOUNT IN THE CITY'S GENERAL TRUST
FUND
The City Commission, at the second meeting in November 1986, directed the Administration
to work with Dr. Engle on the Dr. Leo Grossman Memorial Playground and to provide
assistance in setting a tax-exempt fund for donations. It was recognized that the fastest
and easiest way of providing for said fund was for the City of Miami Beach to provide a
trust account for said purposes and accounting for any and all donations to the Memorial
Playground. The attached Resolution sets up a trust account in the City's general trust fund
and specifies that expenditures can be made from the account. Dr. Engle has agreed to this
concept and will receive financial statements from the Finance Department as requested.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends that the City Commission approve the Resolution
authorizing the Dr. Leo Grossman Memorial Playground Trust Account.
