A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE DADE
LEAGUE OF CITIES TO ADOPT AS PART OF THEIR
LEGISLATIVE GOALS A REQUEST THAT THE STATE OF
FLORIDA PROVIDE ADDITIONAL JAILS FOR HOUSING
OF PRISONERS AND PROVIDE AN INCREASE IN THE
NUMBER OF JUDGES TO FACILITATE THE TRYING OF
CRIMINAL MATTERS.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach
is concerned that the cities of Dade County be made safer for its
citizens; and
WHEREAS , the City Commission believes that there is a
need for more space for housing of criminals; and
WHEREAS, a need exists to increase the capabilities of
the Courts in trying criminal matters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, urging the Dade
League of Cities to adopt as part of their legislative goals a
request that the State of Florida provide additional jails for
housing of prisoners and provide an increase in the number of
judges to facilitate the trying of criminal matters.
