A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ESTABLISH A NEW CHARGE CODE IN
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND 199, TO OPERATE PROGRAMS
FOR EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION, HOUSING
ASSISTANCE, AND LIFE SUSTAINING MEDICATION, IF
FUNDS ARE GRANTED BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, THROUGH THE COMMUNITY
SERVICES BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM, AND TO
APPROPRIATE SUCH FUNDS WHEN AVAILABLE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends that the City apply for
Grant monies from the Florida Department of Community Affairs for Emergency
Transporation, Housing Assistance and life-sustaining Medication; and,
WHEREAS, a Special Revenue Account is required to be established to
facilitate the program if the City is awarded the Grant; and,
WHEREAS, it is essential that the funds received by the City be
appropriated for the programs approved by the State through the Community Services
Block Grant Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Manager is hereby
authorized to establish a new Charge Code in Special Revenue Fund 199, to be used to
operate the Emergency Transporation, Housing Assistance, and life-sustaining
Medication programs, if the funds are granted by the State of Florida, and to
appropriate such funds when received.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 21st day of January, 1987.
