A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT
COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ASSISTANCE FUNDS.
WHEREAS , the State adopted the Local Government
Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Act in 1985; and,
WHEREAS, the above Act will require the City of Miami Beach
to substantially revise the Comprehensive Plan by September 1 ,
1988; and,
WHEREAS, the State Department of Community Affairs has made
funds available to assist local governments in comprehensive
planning; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 86-18673, the City made
application to the State of Florida , Department of Community
Affairs for a Local Government Comprehensive Planning Assistance
Grant in the amount of seventy thousand five hundred twenty-six
dollars ( $70 , 526 . 00 ) , under the provisions of the Florida
Department of Community Affairs Rule 9J-16, providing financial
assistance to the City of Miami Beach for comprehensive planning
as therein delineated.
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended execution of the
Agreement and the City Attorney has approved it as to form.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk
are hereby authorized to execute and deliver the Agreement with
the State of Florida Department of Community Affairs , which is
by reference thereto made a part hereof , for local government
comprehensive planning assistance funds.
