A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING AND
COMMENDING HATZALAH OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, INC.,
D/B/A HATZALAH OF SOUTH FLORIDA, FOR PROVIDING
OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY AND THE
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY COMMUNITY VIA ITS VOLUNTEER
EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach, and its Mayor and City Commissioners are deeply
committed to promoting the public health, safety, and welfare and have a history of
accommodating and showing kindness to its visitors and residents regardless of race, religion, or
gender; and
WHEREAS, Hatzalah of Miami-Dade County, Inc., d/b/a Hatzalah of South Florida, (the
"Hatzalah") provides outstanding public service within the City and within the Miami-Dade County
community via its volunteer emergency response services; and
WHEREAS, Hatzalah volunteers are highly trained emergency medical technicians (the
"EMT")who are dedicated to providing EMT life support at the scene of injuries or illness, pending
the arrival of an ambulance or County Fire/Recue personnel, and do so in'a manner which is
sensitive to the religious and cultural needs of our diverse communities; and
WHEREAS, Hatzalah currently has 45 trained responders and 16 trained dispatchers,with
all services, training, and operational costs entirely funded through private donations; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission would. like to,recognize and commend
Hatzalah of South Florida for bringing an additional set of EMS specialists into our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY.. OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby recognize and commend Hatzalah of Miami-Dade County, Inc., d/b/a
Hatzalah of South Florida,for providing outstanding public service within the City and within the
Miami-Dade County community via its volunteer emergency response services.
