Hudak, City Man DATE: April 22, 2021 SUBJECT: Vaccination Efforts Update ity Commission As a follow-up to our update during the April 21, 2021 Commission meeting, we are proud to inform you that the city has administered 11,543 doses of vaccine in our fight to curb the spread of COVID-19. We have served our community's most vulnerable population, including low- income residents, the elderly, homebound individuals along with health care workers, first responders, school faculty, congregants of houses of worship, city employees, contractors and others. We anticipate completing the second-dose of our remaining allotment during the week of May 24 and at this point we do not expect to continue the City vaccine program. The State of Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) will convert the walk-up COVID-19 testing site, located on Convention Center Drive, into a COVID-19 vaccination site, effective Saturday, April 24, 2021. The vaccination site will operate seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The site will administer Pfizer vaccinations to Florida residents. No first shot appointments are necessary, however, appointments for second shots will be scheduled immediately following the first dose. The city will promote this vaccination site through its various communications channels. FDEM along with Commissioner David Richardson are providing additional vaccination opportunities through pop-up events taking place this upcoming week as follows: North Shore Park & Youth Center: 9 AM- 7 PM (or until vaccines run out) 501 72 Street, Miami Beach, FL • Friday, April 23 • Saturday, April 24 • Sunday, April 25 South Shore Community Center: 9 AM- 7 PM (or until vaccines run out) 833 6 Street, Miami Beach, FL • Monday, April 26 The drive-thru testing site continues to operate Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Miami-Dade County-site offers PCR testing by Nomi Health.
