SUBJECT: Motion by the Human Rights Committee
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to inform the Mayor and the Commission of a
motion made by the Human Rights Committee at their meeting on April 12, 2021.
MOTION: At the April 12, 2021 Human Rights Committee meeting, the committee passed a motion
recommending to the Mayor and City Commission that the City of Miami Beach issue a formal
written condemnation of the newly enacted law in the state of Arkansas, which restricted access to
gender affirming health care for transgendered minors; as well as issue a prohibition of any work
related travel and procurement of products from the state of Arkansas.
