MIAMI TROPICAL MARATHON AND HALF-MARATHON

The purpose of this LTC is to provide the Mayor and Commission with an update on the
2004 Miami Tropical Marathon and Half-Marathon to be held in Miami and Miami Beach on
Sunday, February 1, 2004.
The Miami Tropical Marathon is held and produced to provide runners throughout the wodd
with a premier location/setting to complete either a half or full marathon. The marathon
has become an almost essential service available in all major cities in the world. PR
Racing produced an extremely successful inaugural marathon last year that drew over
5,000 runners. The industry proclaimed the race as the most successful "new" race of
2003.The race will start at the American Airlines Arena, the course will wind through Miami
Beach, downtown Miami, Coconut Grove, Bayshore Drive, Brickell Avenue and finishing at
Bayfront Park.
All affected neighborhoods have been notified. Attached please find copies of the
residential notifications, hand delivered by the event producer. If you have any questions,
