Martinez. RAG/ils Approved Veto Override Mayor Agenda Item No. 2-3 -04 10(A)(5) RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION URGING MUNICIPALITIES TO UTILIZE A UNIFORM MUNICIPAL ELECTION DATE by Commissioner by Commissioner follows: WltEREAS, the County conducts between 20 and 30 individual municipal elections in any given year; and WHEREAS, this procedure requires significant administrative time, effort and cost by the County; and WHEREAS, a procedure whereby all municipalities would hold their municipal elections on the same date would be financially advantageous to the municipalities and administratively advantageous to the County, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that municipalities are urged to coordinate their municipal elections so that they are all held on the same date, thereby reducing the election costs to their citizens by sharing their fixed administrative costs. The foregoing resolution was sponsored by Commissioner Joe A. Martinez and offered , who moved its adoption.
