SUBJECT: Resolution rom the Police Citizen Relations Committee
June 15, 2021 Zoom Phone Conference Meeting
The purpose of this Letter to the Commission (L TC) is to inform the Mayor and the Commission a
motion made by the Police Citizen Relations Committee at their June 15, 2021 Zoom
Teleconference Meeting.
Background:
The Miami Beach Police Department ("MBPD") continually aspires to address crime and
community concerns through innovation and positive partnerships with the community. To support
the public safety goals of MBPD, it is the purpose of the Police/Citizen Relations Committee
("Committee") to, in part, endorse programs that will enhance the well-being of residents and
visitors. The following resolution was made at the June 15, 2021 meeting of the Police Citizen
Relations Committee:
Be it Resolved that the Police Citizen Relations Committee has received information that additional
law enforcement officers have a significant and positive impact on controlling crime in the City of
Miami Beach, hereby announce our support for the City to hire additional police officers to the
extent that the budget permits.
