Dear Honorable Mayor, Commissioners and Mr. Manager:
We are writing to you in support of Smith and Wollensky, a member in good
standing of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association for decades. This
restaurant has served the City and our area well.
Smith & Wollensky is renowned for its stature, excellence in quality of food
and serves as the epitome of stellar service. Year after year, they excel in
their craft of providing a superb dining experience for global visitors,
celebrities and local residents. This iconic restaurant elevates tourism for the
City of Miami Beach. Their support to the City and the Community at large is
extraordinary. They are deeply supportive of youth and education, as well as
charitable causes.
Smith & Wollensky has received numerous awards for excellence as well as
being voted 2018 Restaurant of the Year by the Academy of Hospitality and
Tourism. Henry Delgado has risen through the ranks to take the helm of
Smith & Wollensky. He has exemplary experience and is noted for being one
of the nicest community leaders in our area. Mr. Delgado’s leadership serves
as an example for others, his retention of staff is rivaled by few. He takes
great pride in mentoring others and showing them the path to leadership and
outstanding service. He leads by example with grace.
Mr. Delgado was awarded the 2017 Hospitality Professional of the Year
unanimously by his peers. Henry and Smith & Wollensky were also recognized
at the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association’s Hall of Fame Gala. Mr.
Delgado has served on the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association’s Miami
Dade Chapter Board of Directors for more than ten years and served as the
Chapter President in 2014 to 2016. We proudly support Smith & Wollensky,
the ownership, and Mr. Henry Delgado and his team! You will be well served
to have this fabulous restaurant remain in its home for many years to come.
