SUBJECT: NEXT GENERATION COUNCIL MOTIONS
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to inform the Mayor and Commission of
the advisory motion passed by the Next Generation Council at its September 22 , 2021
meeting.
Members Present: Elisabeth Rabin, Evan Salzberg, Jamie Maniscalco, Jefferson Brackin,
Nicolas Cuetara, Robert Fetell , and Yoshuan Pastrana.
MOTIONS
(1) The Next Generation Council supports the Ocean Drive Association's option to
pedestrianize Ocean Drive but encourages the Commission to further explore the
financial costs of the Freebee service and the effectiveness of a one-way bike lane.

(2) The Next Generation Council recommends the City of Miami Beach to stop using fear
tactics and neighborhood checkpoints to reduce crime. Instead , the focus should be on
friendly policing and positive engagement.

(3) The Next Generation Council recommends for the City Commission to revitalize Ocean
Drive by allowing new construction of buildings up to 8-10 stories and mixed-use zoning.
