A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH TO ACCEPT A DONATION FROM
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY OF ONE (1) 2006 METALCRAFT
MARINE FIRESTORM 36 FIREBOAT ("VESSEL") FOR
THE BENEFIT OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FIRE
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, at its November 16, 2021 meeting, the Miami -Dade County Board of
County Commissioners adopted Resolution No. R-1079-21, approving the donation of a
2006 Metalcraft Marine Firestorm 36 Fireboat to the City of Miami Beach Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, the value of the vessel is $50,000.00, and it is no longer in service
by the Miami -Dade County Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Fire Department will fully refurbish the vessel and
use it to augment the regional waterborne response to marine Firefighting, Search and
Rescue (SAR), and to provide a secondary source of water for waterfront property fires
where the existing domestic supply may not be capable of sustaining the volumes of
water needed for extinguishment; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends that the City Commission
approve and authorize the City's acceptance of the aforestated donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
commission hereby approve and authorize the City of Miami Beach to accept a donation
from Miami -Dade County of one (1) 2006 Metalcraft Marine Firestorm 36 Fireboat
("vessel") for the benefit of the City of Miami Beach Fire Department.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Miami -Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved the donation of a 2006
Metalcraft Marine Firestorm 36 Fireboat through commission action at their November 16,
2021, (Resolution R-1079-21). The value of the vessel is $50,000.00. The vessel is no longer
in service by the Miami -Dade County Fire Department.
The Miami Beach Fire Department will fully refurbish the vessel and use it to augment the
regional waterbome response to marine Firefighting, Search and Rescue (SAR) and to provide
