SUBJECT: Jose Marti Event at Collins Park
The purpose of this L TC is to notify the Mayor and City Commission of the upcoming Jose
Marti event hosted by the City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department, in
conjunction with the Hispanic Affairs Committee.
Jose Marti was a dynamic figure in Cuban history and made tremendous contributions to
Latin American literature. To celebrate his life and accomplishments , the City will be
hosting an event on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Collins Park (Collins Avenue and 21 st
Street). The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. and light refreshments will be served at 3:00
p.m.
Musical acts, influential speakers, and poets will perform for guests, in addition to the
traditional wreath laying ceremony, to mark this historic moment in Cuban history.
