A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO EXPLORE THE
POSSIBILITY OF HOSTING CITY COMMISSION COMMITTEE
MEETINGS, AND IN PARTICULAR, THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND
NEIGHBORHOOD QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE MEETINGS,
IN NORTH BEACH.
WHEREAS, over the last 25 years, the City Commission has taken significant steps to
revitalize the North Beach area in the City of Miami Beach, including adoption of the North Beach
master plan, creation of the North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA"), approval
of the transformative 72nd Street Civic Complex Project, and approval of the Ocean Terrace
park/streetscape project, among other measures; and
WHEREAS, traditionally, the Mayor and City Commission hold their monthly City
Commission meetings in City Hall at 1700 Convention Drive; and
WHEREAS, effective public engagement and accessibility of elected officials is vital for
successful implementation of Plan NoBe and steering of the North Beach CRA; and
WHEREAS, as such, the Mayor and City Commission approve and authorize the City
Administration to explore the possibility of hosting City Commission Committee meetings, and in
particular, the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee meetings, in North
Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and City Commission
hereby approve and authorize the City Administration to explore the possibility of hosting City
Commission Committee meetings, and in particular, the Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality
of Life Committee meetings, in North Beach.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION
The proposed measure would have a fiscal impact on the expenditures of the City, consisting of
the costs for logistical and audio visual arrangements required for City Commission meetings,
including appropriate arrangements for broadcasting the meetings on MBTV and other online
live formats. The Administration will be prepared to address these logistical issues and costs
more fully at the February 9, 2022 City Commission meeting.
