Resolution 2022-32149 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-32149 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF • MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DELEGATING TO THE CITY MANAGER THE AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT DONATIONS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,500.00 OR LESS, INCLUDING IN-KIND DONATIONS VALUED IN THE AMOUNT OF$7,500 OR LESS,TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW; FURTHER, REQUIRING THAT THE CITY MANAGER RELEASE A MONTHLY REPORT VIA LETTER TO COMMISSION DOCUMENTING THE NAME OF EACH DONOR, THE AMOUNT OF EACH DONATION, THE DATE EACH DONATION WAS MADE, AND THE PUBLIC PURPOSE THAT WOULD BE SERVED BY ACCEPTING EACH DONATION. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach frequently receives donations, both cash donations and in-kind donations, from various entities and individuals, to be used for a variety of public purposes; and WHEREAS, currently, all donations, regardless of the amount, must be formally accepted by the Mayor and City Commission via a Resolution during regularly schedule City Commission meetings; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends delegating to the City Manager authority to accept donations under$7,500.00, to promote efficiency, and to conserve time and effort spent by the City Administration and the City Attorney's Office on drafting and reviewing resolutions regarding routine donations of modest value. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and City Commission hereby delegate to the City Manager the authority to accept donations for the benefit of the City in the amount of$7,500.00 or less, including in-kind donations valued in the amount of$7,500 or less,to the extent permitted by law;further, require that the City Manager release a monthly report via Letter To Commission documenting the name of each donor, the amount of each donation, the date each donation was made, and the public purpose that would be served by accepting each donation.
