A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING MAY 9
THROUGH- MAY 13, 2022 AS "INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT WEEK" IN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH.
WHEREAS, Economic Development Week ("EDW") is an international campaign
created by the International Economic Development Council to increase awareness for
local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and increase
the quality of life; and
WHEREAS, promoting economic development, economic well-being and quality
of life for the City of Miami Beach will serve to create, retain, and expand job opportunities
that facilitate growth, enhance wealth, and provide a thriving and balanced revenue base;
and
WHEREAS, promoting economic development stimulates and nurtures
entrepreneurism and innovation in the City, and helps establish the next generation of
new businesses, new sectors and industries, which are hallmarks of the American
economy; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to promote economic
development in an effort to support the City's business community and commercial
corridors, attract and retain high-quality jobs and top talent, develop a vibrant community,
diversify our economy, and improve the quality of life of our residents and businesses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and the City
Commission hereby declare May 9 through May 13, 2022 as "International Economic
Development Week" in the City of Miami Beach.
