Appointment of Janet Gavarrete as Assistant City Manager
As you are aware, the departure of Jose Garcia-Pedrosa and Joe Pinon and my
appointment as City Manager has left some vacancies in my office.
I am pleased to announce that Janet Gavarrete, currently the Planning, Design, and
Historic Preservation Division Director, has agreed to accept appointment to the position
of Assistant City Manager, effective as of today, January 5, 1998. Janet has had a
distinguished professional career and has become a valued asset to Miami Beach since
joining our team a year and a half ago.
Janet will join me and the other members of my executive staff in providing day-to-day
direction to the operating departments of our City.
At this time, I am not planning to fill the Deputy City Manager position.
