SUBJECT: Art in Public Places Maintenance -Elmgreen & Dragset, Bent Pool (2019)
The purpose of this letter to the Mayor and Commission is to inform you that annual
maintenance and conservation work will take place at the Elmgreen & Dragset sculpture,
Bent Pool (2019) from November 1-4, 2022. The sculpture will be cleaned with a
conservation-grade detergent and small chipped paint areas will be filled with conservation
grade paint rated for outdoor use. The work will be documented with a written report and
photographs before, during and after treatment.
There will be a conservation team on site
performing the work beginning at 8:00 AM on
November 1, 2022. Please note, a lift will be in use
in order to access the upper areas of the sculpture.
The sculpture is located on the corner of 19th Street
and Convention Center Drive in Pride Park. This
work is conducted annually as part of the Art in
Public Places maintenance and conservation plan.
