SUBJECT: Monthly Donation Report -November 2022
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to provide the Mayor and Commission with a monthly
update on the donations accepted by the City of Miami Beach, under the City Manager's authority
as per Resolution 2022-32284 . The resolution delegated to the City Manager the authority to
accept donations for the benefit of the City in the amount of $25,000.00, including in-kind
donations, to the extent permitted by law; further, requiring that the City Manager release a
monthly report via Letter to Commission documenting the name of each donor, the amount of
each donation, the date each donation was made, and the public purpose that would be served
by accepting each donation.
During the month of November 2022, the administration accepted the following donations:
Item: October 2022 Making Strides Campaign
Name of Entity: American Cancer Society: Making Strides Miami
Estimated Worth: $7,064 .00
Sponsors hip Date: October 1 -November 23, 2022
Description: Throughout the month of October, the City of Miami Beach held various
fundraising events to support American Cancer Society's Making Strides Campaign. The city 's
team: "Miami Beach Strides To Sea A Cure " raised the funds from the following events:
Making Strides Bake Sales
Making Strides Pennywars
Marking Strides Parks and Recreation Contributions.
These funds will be donated to the American Cancer Society: Making Strides Miami in their
entirety.
