The Sustainability Committee met on November 17 , 2022 and passed the motion s below:
• The Sustainability Committee support s undergrounding of the utilities and pr ese rvation of th e
mature mahogany tre es as part of th e State Road (SR) 907 / Alton Rd project from Michigan
Avenue to 43"1 Street.
Motion Passed: 4-0
• The Sustainability Committee support s requiring th e inclusion of injection we lls with th e pump
stations proposed for the State Road (SR) 907 /Alton Rd project from Michigan Avenue to 43"1
Street.
Motion Passed: 3-1 (Margarita Kmyff oppo se d)
• The Sustainability Committee recommend s th at th e City of Miami Beach implem ent inj ec tion
wells in stead of pump stations as a standard practic e.
Motion Passed: 3-1 (Margarita Kruyff opposed)
• The Sustainability Committee urg es th e City of Miami Beach Mayor and City Commission
to urge the South Florida Water Management District to in ves ti ga te alternative strategics for
flushin g canal surfac e waters in pr eparation for storms, in stead of dischar ging canal surface
waters into Biscayne Bay.

• T he Sustainability Committee recommends that th e City of Miami Beach renew its contract
with Woosh and pro vide th e use of the water refill stations for free to the public, and
recommends that it be subsidized or s upported through advertisin g.
