A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING
THE YOUTH COMMISSION ADVISORY BOARD'S
RECOMMENDATION AND DECLARING SUPPORT FOR
THE "NO ONE EATS ALONE DAY" ON FEBRUARY 17,
2023 IN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH. -
WHEREAS, at its November 15, 2022 meeting, the City's Youth Commission
Advisory Board passed a unanimous motion urging the Mayor and City Commission to
declare support for the "No One Eats Alone Day" in the City of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, national No One Eats Alone Day, held every February, is a
celebration, a curriculum and campaign designed to end social isolation and create a
culture of belonging in middle school; and
WHEREAS, currently, millions of students in more than 2,500 schools in all 50
states participate in No One Eats Alone Day each year; and
WHEREAS, with this mission, No One Eats Alone Day serves as a leading effort
to encourage students in schools to sit together and eat together, and ensure that not
even a single student should be left alone to eat.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby accept the Youth Commission Advisory Board's recommendation
and declare support for the "No One Eats Alone Day" on February 17, 2023 in the City of
Miami Beach.
