A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING COMMISSIONER RICKY ARRIOLA
AS THE CITY COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE TO ASSIST WITH THE
MEDIATION AND SETTLEMENT DISCUSSIONS RELATED TO
CONGREGATION 3401 PRAIRIE BAIS YESHAYA D'KERESTIR, INC. AND
RABBI ARIE WOHL v. CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, CASE NO. 22-CV-21213-CMA
AND CONGREGATION 3401 PRAIRIE BAIS YESHAYA D'KERESTIR, INC. v.
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, ET AL., CASE NO. 22-16099 CA 25.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach (the "City") is currently in pending litigation in
Congregation 3401 Prairie Bais Yeshaya D'kerestir, Inc. and Rabbi Arie Wohl v. City of Miami
Beach, Case No. 22-CV-21213-CMA and Congregation 3401 Prairie Bais Yeshaya D'kerestir,
Inc. v. City of Miami Beach, et al., Case No. 22-16099 CA 25, in United States District Court for
the Southern District of Florida, and Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida for Miami-Dade County,
respectively; and
WHEREAS, under Section 2-11.1(z) of the Code of Miami-Dade County, neither the
mayor, commissioners, nor any member of their staff shall participate in settlement negotiations
of claims or lawsuits without prior approval of the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to designate Commissioner Ricky
Arriola as the City Commission representative for the purposes of settlement discussions in the
aforementioned litigation, and Commissioner Arriola has expressed the willingness to undertake
this responsibility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby designate Commissioner Ricky Arriola as the City Commission
representative to assist with the mediation and settlement negotiations related to Congregation
3401 Prairie Bais Yeshaya D'kerestir, Inc. and Rabbi Arie Wohl v. City of Miami Beach, Case No.
22-CV-21213-CMA and Congregation 3401 Prairie Bais Yeshaya D'kerestir, Inc. v. City of Miami
Beach, et al., Case No. 22-16099 CA 25.
