AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, BY AMENDING THE
PARKING FEE SECTION OF APPENDIX A, "FEE SCHEDULE",
TO CORRECT THE COLLINS PARK GARAGE MONTHLY
PARKING PERMIT FEE; AND PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION,
REPEALER, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on September 25, 2019, the Mayor and City Commission adopted
Ordinance No. 2019-4299 which, in pertinent part, provides that all fees and charges
established by the City Commission shall be set forth in Appendix "A" to the City Code,
entitled "Fee Schedule," and provides for an annual adjustment for certain specified fees
and charges to reflect increases in the Consumer Price Index ("CPI"); and
WHEREAS, on June 24, 2020, the Mayor and City Commission adopted
Ordinance No. 2020-4340 establishing the parking rates for the Collins Park Garage
(G12); and
WHEREAS, garage rates were set in accordance with other City garages with a
then-monthly parking rate of$103; and
WHEREAS, on October 1, 2020 rates increased due to the annual CPI, as per the
above referenced Ordinance, and the newly added Collins Park Garage was not included
in the 2020 CPI rate increase; and
WHEREAS, subsequent annual rate increases have occurred resulting in the
current monthly rate of $114 for Collins Park Garage, while other garages are at $116;
and
WHEREAS, the changes included in this Ordinance are to standardize the rates
at the Collins Park Garage.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1.
Appendix A, entitled "Fee Schedule," is hereby amended as provided in "Exhibit
A" to this Ordinance.
SECTION 2. REPEALER.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances and all section and parts of sections in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. CODIFICATION.
It is the intention of the City Commission, and it is hereby ordained that the
provisions of this ordinance shall become and be made part of the Code of the City of
Miami Beach as amended; that the sections of this ordinance may be renumbered or
relettered to accomplish such intention; and that the word "ordinance" may be changed
to "section" or other appropriate word.
SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY.
If any section, subsection, clause or provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, the
remainder shall not be affected by such invalidity.
SECTION 5. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall take effect ten days following adoption.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY
On September 25, 2019, the Mayor and City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 2019-4299

On June 24, 2020, the Mayor and City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 2020-4340
establishing the parking rates for the Collins Park Garage (G12). Garage rates were set in
accordance with other City garages with a then monthly parking rate of$103.
On October 1, 2020 rates increased due to the annual CPI, as per the above referenced
Ordinance. The newly added garage was not included in this CPI rate increase.As a result, the
Collins Parking Garage monthly parking rate is different than the other garages in the area.
Subsequent annual rate increases have occurred resulting in the current monthly rate of$114 for
Collins Park Garage,while other garages are at$116.
