AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
AND
NORTH BAY VILLAGE, FLORIDA FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE STEAM PLUS
PROGRAM AT TREASURE ISLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
This Amendment No. 3 ("Amendment") to the Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU"),
made and entered into on November 21, 2019, by and between the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, (CMB")and North Bay Village. Florida ('NBV"), for the implementation of STEAM
Plugg program at Treasure Island Elementary School, is entered into this day of

RECITALS
WHEREAS, on January 16, 2019 the Mayor and the City Commission adopted
implementation of Resolution No 2019-30690, authorizing the City Manager and City
Clerk to execute a grant agreement with the Friends of the Bass Museum, Inc., for the
implementation of a Beta Test for a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and
Mathematics ('STEAM') Plus program with all six Miami Beach public schools
(kindergarten - 12th grade) and six local cultural institutions; and
WHEREAS, NBV has requested that the STEAM Plus Initiative program be
implemented at Treasure Island Elementary School for the 2019-20 school year; and
WHEREAS, on September 11, 2019, the Mayor and City Commission adopted
Resolution No 2019-30955, approving the addition of Treasure Island Elementary
School to the STEAM Plus program, with NBV contributing no less than 50% of the
anticipated cost to implement the program, with the City s contribution not exceeding
$9,000.00; and
WHEREAS, on November 21, 2019, CMB and NBV entered into a MOU agreeing
to provide for a STEAM Plus Program at Treasure Elementary; and
WHEREAS, the terms of the MOU authorize two additional one (1) year renewals
by the mutual agreement of the parties, based upon the same terms; and
WHEREAS, on April 6, 2021, CMB and NBV executed an amendment to the MOU
agreeing to provide for a STEAM Plus Program at Treasure Island Elementary for the
2020-21 school year; and
WHEREAS, on September 2, 2021, CMB and NBV executed an amendment to the
MOU agreeing to provide for a STEAM Plus Program at Treasure Island Elementary for
the 2021-22 school year; and
WHEREAS, CMB and NVB wish to extend the MOU by an additional year for the
2022-2023 school year

NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and conditions
contained herein, and other good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency of which is
hereby acknowledged, the City and Consultant hereby agree to amend the Agreement as
follows:
1. ABOVE RECITALS.
The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated as part of this
Amendment.
2. MODIFICATIONS.
The MOU is hereby amended as follows:
This Memorandum of Understanding is hereby extended for the 2022-2023
school year.
3. RATIFICATION.
Except as amended herein, all other terms and conditions of the Agreement shall
remain unchanged and in full force and effect. In the event there is a conflict
between the provisions of this Amendment and the Agreement, the provisions of
this Amendment shall govern.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Amendment to be
executed by their appropriate officials, as of the date first entered above.

On July 19,2019 the City Commission awarded$372,000 to the Bass for the STEAM+initiative in 6 Miami Beach public
schools.Reso 2019-30955 amended Reso 2019-30906 to add Treasure Island Elementary in North Bay Village.Yearly,the
City processes an amendment to the 2021-31776 to continue the services for the current school year.This Amend.No.3 to
the MOU between the City and North Bay Village allows implementation of the STEAM+program at Treasure Island Elem for
the 2022-23 school year.This partnership began on 9/11/2019 when the Mayor and City Commission adopted Reso No.
2019-30955 approving the addition of Treasure Island Elem to the STEAM+Program with NBV contributin no less than 50%
of the cost following NBV's request that STEAM+be added during the 2019-20 school year.Reso 2021-31776 authorizes the
City Manager to execute a new grant agreement with The Bass for implementation of the STEAM+program for public
schools for FY 2022-23 for an intital term of 1 year,with two 1-year renewals,and further authorizes the City Manager to
execute an agreement with the Town of North Bay Village to fund 50%of the cost to implement STEAM+at Treasure Island
