A RESOLUTION OF THE , MAYOR AND THE • CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI. BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF ONE (1) . MARCY
WEIGHT UNIT VALUED AT $1,200, ONE (1) STATIONARY
BICYCLE VALUED AT $800 AND FREE WEIGHTS VALUED
AT $200 AS DONATED TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF
MIAMI BEACH. '
WHEREAS, the Police Department maintains a. training room for
the use and benefit• of employees of the police and fire departments
with its primary purpose being the development and maintenance of
the physical and mental_ health of its members, and
WHEREAS, the Letrianon Condominium Association, located- at
6061 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida, wishes to donate the
marcy weight unit, the stationary bicycle and the free weights to
the Police Department to be placed and remain in the • Police
Department Training Room and to be maintainel by the City of Miami
Beach as is all other training room equipment, and
WHEREAS, no funds are required from the City for the purchase
of the equipment.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND . CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF, MIAMI ' BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City of Miami Beach accepts the marcy
weight unit, the 'stationary bicycle and the free weights as .a gift
from the Letrianon Condominium Association.
Section 2 . That the. marcy,weight. unit, the stationary bicycle
and the free weights shall; remain in the custody and become part of
the Police Department Training,Room ... and 'shall be serviced and
maintained by the City of Miami Beach as is all other training
equipment.

SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A
MARCY WEIGHT UNIT VALUED AT $1,200, A STATIONARY BICYCLE

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
•
The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission
adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the acceptance of the
gift of the above equipment with a total value of $2 , 200 donated to
the Police Department.
•
BACKGROUND
The members of the Letrianon Condominium Association wish to donate
the aforementioned equipment to the Police Department to be placed
in .the Police Department Training Room. There are no funds
required from the City for the purchase of the' equipment.
CONCLUSION
This Resolution should be approved authorizing the acceptance of
the gift of the equipment for the Police Department.
