RESOLUTION NO. 94-21061
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF $146,000 AND
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A WORK ORDER TO FUND
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE NORMANDY SHORES
NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (THE
DISTRICT) PURSUANT TO THE NORMANDY SHORES SAFE
NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, the Safe Neighborhood Improvement Plan adopted for
the District contains various capital improvements which provide
for the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of the
District; and
WHEREAS, these improvements include the construction of a
guardhouse, installation of sliding gates and the construction of
a tot lot in the District; and
WHEREAS, the costs for these improvements is estimated to be
$146,000 as summarized in the attached EXHIBIT "1"; and
WHEREAS, funding for these improvements is available from the
reallocated Bond Fund account as a result of the sale of the stash
lots on Normandy Shores.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA THAT THE MAYOR AND
CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZE THE APPROPRIATION OF $146,000 FROM THE
REALLOCATED BOND FUND ACCOUNT AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A WORK ORDER
TO PROVIDE FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE NORMANDY SHORES NEIGHBORHOOD
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT PURSUANT TO THE NORMANDY SHORES SAFE
NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PLAN.

SUBJECT: ESTABLISH A WORK . ORDER AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FOR
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE NORMANDY SHORES NEIGHBORHOOD
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT j
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the
attached resolution to establish a work order and appropriate
funding in the amount of $146,000 to be used for improvements to
the Normandy Shores Neighborhood District pursuant to the Normandy
Shores Safe Neighborhood Plan.
BACKGROUND:
The Safe Neighborhood Plan adopted for the Normandy. Shores
Neighborhood Improvement District contains . various capital
improvements which address the concerns of the residents and
provides for their safety, security and general welfare. Phase I of
these improvements will address security and .traffic flow issues by
constructing a guardhouse at one entrance to the District and
installing sliding gates at two other entrance points. The creation
of a tot lot on city-owned property adjacent to the golf bourse is
also included in these improvements.,

Total $146,000
Funding in the amount of $146,000 is available in the reallocated
bond fund account as a result of the sale of the stash lots on
Normandy Shores.
CONCLUSION: .
The City Commission should adopt .the attached resolution
appropriating funding for improvements to the Normandy Shores
Neighborhood District pursuant to the Normandy Shores Safe
Neighborhood Plan.
