1998 NATIONAL RECREATION AND PARKS ASSOCIATION CONGRESS
& EXPOSITION
We are pleased to inform you that the City of Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County will be hosting
the 1998 National Recreation and Parks Association Congress & Exposition on Miami Beach from
September 21 - 27, 1998. This prestigious gathering of Parks and Recreation professionals from
throughout the Unites States was last in our city in 1978. The attached magazine insert, which
describes our exciting conference activities in full detail, was distributed to the 23,000 members of
NRPA in the May issue of the Parks & Recreation magazine.
It is estimated that more than 7,500 delegates, exhibitors and guests will be staying in our city for
this five-day event. The City of Miami Beach Recreation, Culture and Parks Department is co-
chairing this exciting Congress and will be hosting many of the conference socials, seminars, and
programs at various locations on Miami Beach and throughout Miami-Dade County.
