A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ELECTING COMMISSIONER DAVID
RICHARDSON, GROUP • VI, AS VICE-MAYOR, FOR A TERM
COMMENCING ON AUGUST 1, . 2023, AND TERMINATING ON
NOVEMBER 30, 2023.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission established a policy of rotating the
position of Vice-Mayor every four months, and the next Vice-Mayor Group is Group VI; and
WHEREAS, the term for the next Vice-Mayor is August 1, 2023 through November
31, 2023, and Commissioner David Richardson is next in the rotation to serve as Vice-
Mayor. .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT .DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Commissioner David
Richardson is hereby elected as Vice-Mayor, for a term commencing on August 1, 2023
through November 30, 2023.

RICHARDSON, GROUP VI,AS VICE-MAYOR, FORA TERM COMMENCING
ON AUGUST 1, 2023,AND TERMINATING ON NOVEMBER 30, 2023.
ANALYSIS
The City Commission has established a policy of rotating the position of Vice-Mayor every four
(4) months. Since 1994, the rotation has been by Commission Group number in the following
sequence, Group I, II, III, IV, V, and VI. Based on this direction, the next Vice-Mayor Group is
Group VI. The term for the next Vice-Mayor is August 1, 2023, through November 30, 2023.
Commissioner David Richardson is next in the rotation to serve as Vice-Mayor.
