A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ELECTING COMMISSIONER
KRISTEN ROSEN GONZALEZ, GROUP I, AS VICE -MAYOR, FOR A
TERM COMMENCING ON NOVEMBER 28, 2023, AND TERMINATING
ON MARCH 31, 2024.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission established a policy of rotating the
position of Vice -Mayor every four months, and the next Vice -Mayor Group is Group I; and
WHEREAS, the term for the next Vice -Mayor is November 28, 2023 through March
31, 2024, and Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez is next in the rotation to serve as
Vice -Mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Commissioner Kristen
Rosen Gonzalez is hereby elected as Vice -Mayor, for a term commencing on November
28, 2023 through March 31, 2024.
PASSED and ADOPTED THIS 28th day of November 2023.

ANALYSIS
The City Commission has established a policy of rotating the position of Vice -Mayor every four
(4) months. Since 1994, the rotation has been by Commission Group number in the following
sequence, Group I, 11, 111, IV, V, and VI.
Based on this direction, the next Vice -Mayor Group is Group I. The term for the next Vice -
Mayor is November 28, 2023 through March 31, 2024. Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez
is next in the rotation to serve as Vice -Mayor.
