City of Miami Beach, Respondent/Case No. RC-98-019 On February 27, 1998, the Government Supervisors Association of Florida, OPEIU, Local 100, filed a Representation-Certification Petition with the Public Employees Relations Commission (PERC), to represent the following supervisory classifications: Air Conditioning Supervisor City Surveyor Crime Scene Supervisor Electronicsllnstruments Supervisor Maintenance Supervisor Paint Supervisor Parking Facilities Supervisor Plumbing Supervisor Pumping Operations Supervisor Senior Building Inspector Sewer Field Operations Supervisor Street Operation Supervisor Warehouse Supervisor Water Service Representative Beach Patrol Operations Supervisor Communications Supervisor Electrician Supervisor Fleet Operations Supervisor Metered Service Supervisor Park Operations Supervisor Parking Operations Supervisor Property Management Operations Supervisor Recreation Supervisor I Senior Engineering Inspector Street Lighting Operations Supervisor Tennis Center Supervisor Water Field Operations Supervisor On March 5, 1998, PERC ruled that the petition was sufficient, and on April 22, 1998 a consent election agreement for the supervisory employees was filed by the parties. On April 28, 1998 Hearing Officer John Showalter concluded that the proposed unit was appropriate for purposes of collective bargaining and recommended that the consent election be approved. On May 18,1998 PERC ordered a secret ballot election, which was held in mid-July. continued. .. Letter to Commission Page 2 Attached is the notice from PERC on the Tally of Ballots, which indicates that the Petitioner, Government Supervisors Association of Florida, OPEIU, Local 1 00, prevailed.
