Spring Break Public Review Meeting
Now that Spring Break is essentially behind us and memories are still very sharp, it is
time to set down the lessons learned, perform objective evaluations, and gather
information from a wide range of residents, other participants and actors, and potential
visitors.
We're supportive of the initiatives that Commissioners Fernandez and Bhatt have
proposed and that other Commissioners have supported, to hold just such an after-
action review. While residents are pleased with both the City's efforts and the outcome,
some tactics inevitably work better than others, so now is the time to perform such an
evaluation.
We're hopeful that the Commission will draw on the experience of a wide range of those
affected and employ fact-based analysis, since emotions on many sides can cloud the
issues and reduce the quality of recommendations.
SOBESAFE recommends that the Commission, at its upcoming meeting on April 3,
approve a resolution in favor of convening such a public meeting.
