SUBJECT: Royal Palm Crowne Plaza Hotel
responsibilities.
Assignment of project managment
The Redevelopment Agency and the Tishman Organization have decided not to renew their
contract to manage the Royal Palm Crowne Plaza Hotel project. After careful consideration, I
have decided to assign David Cates, the City's Capital Projects Coordinator, to oversee and
manage the project. As project manager, David's duties will also include coordinating the Collins
Avenue improvements between Espanola Way and Lincoln Road, the 16th Street extension between
Collins and Washington Avenues and the the Beachwalk project.
David was chosen for this important assignment due to his extensive construction and engineering
background and many years of dedicated service to this City.
