SUBJECT: Motion from the LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee Meeting
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to provide you with the motions made at the
LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee meeting held on April 9, 2024. For any questions or
comments please contact Monica Matteo-Salinas, committee liaison.
Members present: Steve Adkins (Chair), Michael Bath (Vice-Chair), Lexi Goza, Edward Kring,
Herb Sosa, Paul Thomas, Lymari Veloz, Jonathon Welsh, Facundo Yebne.
Members Absent: Hortense De Castro, Lauren Foster, Laurence Moser, Eduardo Rivero.
Motion Made by Michael Bath
Seconded by Herb Sosa
The LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee supports the full funding request for dedicated funding
within the Miami Beach Police Department for LGBTQIA + initiatives.
Motion Passage: Unanimously
The LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee urges the Mayor and Commission to support the above
request.
