Attached is the memo that we have sent to the Mayor and Commission, regarding
Thursday's Special City Commission Meeting to Discuss Spring Break at 3PM.
Information on how to participate is below.
Memorandum for Mayor and Commissioners
Subject: Review of Spring Break 2024, at April 18th Meeting

Once again, we express our gratitude and appreciation to all who led the City through
a very successful Spring Break 2024. It's very timely for the Commission to review the
experience on April 18th, and to find adjustments that can make the 2025 Spring Break
even more successful. There is very widespread support among the residents for such
a review - just as there is among all the Commissioners - and we thank you for this
opportunity.
Our most important observation is that the City's performance was hugely successful.
We all have views about how it might have been even a little more successful, perhaps
a bit less Draconian, but at all costs the Commission must avoid throwing the baby out
with the bathwater - adjustments, perhaps even additional measures, but please --
no weakening of Miami Beach's vigilance and resolve to stick with the major measures
that were so successful.
The format of a Commission meeting will afford residents the opportunity to make their
suggestions heard - and this is the time for us to do so. We look forward to a wide-

ranging and pro ductive m eeting , le ading to som e ha rd analyses of w hat w orked w ell
and w hat w as less effective . A fter all, data is king and m ust info rm the C ity's pla nn ing ,
in this case fo r S pring B reak 20 25 . W e assure you that the reside nts w ill be at the
m eeting in fo rce to sha re the ir experie nces and obse rv ations w ith you all.
