This is to inform you that, on November 1, 1998, the City made the last payment on a twelve-month
lease agreement between the City of Miami Beach and Gateway Development Corporation, for a
vacant property located on the southeast comer of 5th Street and Alton Road. The purpose of the
lease was to provide a park-and-ride lot for the ELECTROWA VE Service.
The specific information regarding this expiring land lease follows:
* Authorized by Resolution No. 97-22605, dated December 3, 1997
* 21,500 square feet of land at $7.50 per square foot
* One-year lease cost: $161,250
* Lease term: December 15, 1997 to December 14, 1998.
Since the park-and-ride lot has not performed as intended, the City has chosen not to exercise the
lease's one-year renewal option.
