SUBJECT: 17th Street Site Request for Proposals - Status Report
On November 4, 1998, the City Commission authorized the Administration to issue Request for
Development Proposals for the" 17th Street Site". The following is a status report of the actions
taken to date.
1. As described in Commission Memorandum No. 749-98, presented to the City Commission
on November 4, 1998, advertisements were posted as follows:

2. To date, 530 RFP documents have been mailed to prospective proposers and 38 documents
have been requested as a result of the advertisements.
3. On December 7, 1998, letters to five licensed MAl appraisers were sent out informing each
qualified firm of the requirements for the appraisaL On December 15, 1998, J.B. Alhale &
Associates was selected to appraise the property and will submit the appraisal no later than
January 21,1999,
4, A mandatory pre-submission conference and tour will be held on January 29, 1999. All
participating City department representatives will be in attendance to answer any questions.
5. The Administration is reviewing and compiling a list of potential consultants for further
review and selection, As stated in the Resolution No. 98-22958, the consultant will assist
with the Analysis and Feasibility Studies, and Site/Area Planning Strategies which include
economic, and market analysis, traffic and transportation analysis, urban planning, urban
design and architectural analysis and recommendations.
6, The evaluation committee is expected to be comprised of seven to nine (7-9) representatives
from the various industries that reflect the Miami Beach business community. This
committee will include, but not be limited to, individuals in the fields of entertainment, arts,
real estate, and development. The Administration will submit the names of the selection
committee prior to the scheduled deadline for the submittal of proposals,
