RESOLUTION NO. 99-23259
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE DADE
COUNTY ALLIANCE AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$1,000, TO BE USED BY THE MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE UNIT TO PURCHASE EMERGENCY RELIEF ITEMS
FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
WHEREAS, the Dade County Alliance Against Domestic Violence has selected the Miami
Beach Police Department's Domestic Violence Unit as a recipient of, $1,000 of Emergency Relief
Funds; and
WHEREAS, this donation will be used by the Miami Beach Police Department's Domestic
Violence Unit for emergency relief funds to assist victims of domestic violence for such emergency
needs as transportation to and from court, changing of locks, emergency food vouchers, and other
such relief items for victims of domestic violence.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the donation from the
Dade County Alliance Against Domestic Violence, in the amount of$1 ,000, to be used by the Miami
Beach Police Department Domestic Violence Unit to purchase emergency relief items for victims
of domestic violence is hereby accepted.

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The Dade County Alliance Against Domestic Violence Emergency Relief Fund has selected the
Miami Beach Police Department's Domestic Violence Unit to receive $1,000 in emergency relief
funds. The emergency relief funds will be used by the Domestic Violence Unit to provide for the
emergency needs of victims of domestic violence. The emergency relief funds will be used for
transportation to and from court, changing of locks, emergency food vouchers, etc.
CONCLUSION
The adoption of this Resolution will enable the Police Department to accept the $1,000 donation
from the Da~f~unty Alliance Against Domestic Violence.
