Issue: Shall the Commission approve the appropriation and expenditure of $363,440, from the Parking Revenue Fund 481, to provide painting and striping needed at the 17th Street Parking Garage? Item Summary/Recommendation: Florida Lemark Corporation, lowest and best bidder pursuant to Bid No. 67-02/03 initiated concrete restoration and repairs, including waterproofing of the roof at the 1 ih Street Parking Garage in March 2004. The extensive amount of patching on the surface of walls and slabs will result in the need of paint patching throughout the Parking Garage and new striping on the slab surfaces. The existing painting presents discolorations and excessive use. The striping is confusing, since several layouts are present in the surface and such confusions result in complaints from the users. The City recommends due to the existing condition of the facility and the extent of the repairs, that the complete building be painted and striped. There is an extensive amount of surfaces to be painted, with approximately 740,000 square feet of ceiling alone; 28 flush doors and 18 louver doors, the man proofing on first floor and the office interiors. Painting and striping work will be performed by one of the City's JOC Contractors. Striping for approximately 1,460 spaces throughout the parking structure will be required, including 32 ADA spaces. The Administration recommends aoorovina the resolution. Advisory Board Recommendation: IN/A Financial Information: Source of Funds: Finance Dept. Ci Clerk's Office Le islative Trackin Hiram G.
