86-18353 ResoRESOLUTION NO. 86-18353 A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 86-18339, CALLING SPECIAL ELECTION ON MARCH 11, 1986, TO CONSIDER AMENDING THE CITY CHARTER WITH RELATION TO PROVIDING FOUR-YEAR STAGGERED TERMS FOR CITY COMMISSIONERS, AND A TWD-YEAR TERM FOR THE MAYOR WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, on January 8, 1986, adopted Resolution No. 86-18339, calling a Special Election to be held on March 11, 1986, with relation to amending the City Charter to provide for four-year staggered terms for City Commissioners~ and a two-year term for the Mayor, and WHEREAS, the City Commission has been advised by the Supervisor of Elections that the March 11, 1986, run-off election for the State District 104 Representative willnot be held and if the City ahould continue with its plans for the election, the entire cost of the election would have to be borne by the City, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that Resolution No. 86-18339 adopted on January 8, 1986, calling said Special Election, be and the same is hereby rescinded. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of said resolution be sent to the Supervisor of Elections of Dade County, Florida. PASSED and ADOPTED this 22nd day of January, 1986.
