The purpose of this LTC is to inform the Mayor and Commission of the Administration's
efforts in tracking and preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Frances as it makes its way
across the Atlantic toward the United States. At this point, it is too early to tell exactly
where Hurricane Frances will make landfall but we are preparing for all possible scenarios.
Several meetings took place today with staff from all appropriate departments to review our
departmental and citywide hurricane preparedness plans. Additional meetings are planned
for tomorrow to continue tracking the hurricane and planning accordingly.
We will continue to work with our colleagues in Miami Dade County to ensure that all
resources are allocated appropriately and that we keep you, our residents, and our City
staff updated on the latest information regarding Hurricane Frances.
