Without the intervention of Phil Azan, the building director, along with his colleagues, we surely would not have been able to be permited, and the project would have become disallowed. It was due to the fact that he and his staff, especially Mohammed Partovi, Siddiq Khan, Renato Sejas, Jeri Goodkin, Ruth Rahmani, and Richard McConachie each took a personal interest in helping with this matter that I was able to successfully accomplish this task. Mohammed Partovi worked closely with me on practically a daily basis in order to make sure the pians were processed quickly, and that the comments were understood by our engineer in order to make them permitable by Siddiq Khan. Siddiq Khan graciously met with the architect, the engineer, and myself in order to go over the specifics of our plans and corrections. Renato Sejas met with the architect in order to come up with a solution to a complicated fire prevention problem. While Phil Azan was away, Jeri Goodkin saw to it that I was able to get an efficient and rapid review. Ruth Rahmani personally escorted me to inspectors in both the Building Department and Public Works to make sure I was taken care of. She also assisted me with DERM and WASA matters. Richard McConachie was able to coordinate last minute joint reviews for us, which were a necessity to our being permited. All of the other inspectors as well showed an unprecedented willingness to aid in the necessary rapid review of our plans. 550 Washington Avenue. Miami Beach, Florida 33139-6604 . For the record their names are: Ronald Mary, Sammy Moore, Paul Elledge, Paul Raymond, Walter Reade, John Cronin, Jan-Pierre Perez, Gary Ortega, Gladys Salas, Carlos Garcia, Isabel Hayman, Carmen Hernendez, Rosie Rodriguez, Ana lIarcon, and Sonia Lecounte. Lastly, Demar Woodson and Julio Grave de Peralta of the Public Works department deserve recognition for their participation in this process as well. Now that this new level of cooperation and assistance has been achieved by the Building Department, it is our hope that the other departments will follow their example. If everyone continues to work together, Miami Beach will surely become a much more hospitable city for businesses to operate in, which will hopefully incite it's further development and growth. cc: Sergio Rodriguez Phil Azan Mohammed Partovi Siddiq Khan Renato Sejas Jeri Goodkin .
